Cirrhosis

What is cirrhosis?

Cirrhosis is the word used to describe the extent of damage to the liver.

The Hepatitis C virus attacks liver cells, killing them, and scar tissue builds up in their place (fibrosis). Then the liver starts to get hard in texture, and this is referred to as Cirrhosis. Cirrhosis can be mild, moderate or severe.
