How do I tell someone?
Planning and even practicing in advance helps a great deal with
telling someone you have Hepatitis C.
Prepare answers to all the questions a person may ask, and have
a supply of reliable information to hand to reassure them.
Think about every possible response a person might have, and how
you can remain calm and positive if they become emotional.
It might help to remember your own reaction to being told you
had Hepatitis C, and explain how you felt.
If you need to tell someone, but are having trouble getting the
words out, your GP can refer you to a trained councillor or support
group who will help you find a way to break the news.
Alternatively you can self-refer if you would find this
easier.
