Telling people
Who, what, where, how and when you tell is entirely up to you.
You may feel that no-one has the right to know you have Hepatitis
C, and that's okay. However, there may be times that you need the
care and compassion of loved ones, or the advice of someone who
knows what you're going through.
It can be hard to tell people that you have a potentially
serious illness. Reactions from friends, family, work mates, even
medical professionals are likely to be varied. Sadly, some are
frightened of illnesses like Hepatitis C, and their responses may
upset you. It is important to protect yourself from discrimination
and stigma, so you need to be prepared.
