Leaflets and Factsheets
A series of factsheets have been produced to help support the
Scottish Government's Hepatitis C Action
Plan for Scotland to inform a range of professional
audiences. The factsheets are summarized below and are available to
download as a PDF. Alternatively order a Hepatitis C
"what you need to know information pack" (which
includes the three factsheets and a short infocard) from Health Scotland Publications.
What is hepatitis C? Factsheet
A factsheet explaining what the hepatitis C virus is,
transmission routes of the virus, symptoms and the likely outcomes
of a hepatitis C infection.
Testing Factsheet
A factsheet which describes how hepatitis C is diagnosed, who
should be tested for hepatitis C, what the benefits of testing are,
who can test for hepatitis C, what the testing process is, what the
results of testing mean and a brief outline of referral to
secondary care following a positive test.
Treatment, Care and Support Factsheet
A factsheet describing the treatment, care and support required
after a positive diagnosis of the hepatitis C virus.
